Everybunny’s different

February 16, 2009

Nana’s been on a bunny kick lately, gets all her stuffed bunnies together to mother them. Well we cleaned out Pia’s room yesterday and found a few “new” bunnies. One has really droopy ears and it was upsetting Nana. She couldn’t get the ears to stay up. She asked me to help her, and I had the idea to turn this into a “teachable” moment. I told her that some bunnies had ears that stood up, and some didn’t. Just like she has blue eyes and Pia has brown eyes. Everyone was different but deserved love and respect. So, I’m totally patting myself on the back here. She says, “ok mama, so everybunny is different?”. “Yes!! You got it baby!” (laughing). I’m congratulating myself on doing something right when she comes closer, and whispers “mama, these bunnies aren’t real, they are fake, ok?”
