RAK

RAK = Random Acts of Kindness

This is a weekly blog entry I’ve started. It’s a call to be kind. Each week I’ll issue a challenge, simple and very do-able. We so often get caught up in the day to day of life, we forget simple kindness.

So, I’d love to get as many people involved in this as possible. I want to hear what you think of my challenge, suggest new challenges, and your experience with each weeks challenge. If your story is a really great one, I’ll share here.

You can see all RAK posts here.

You can see all the great people out there RAKing here. Make sure you peek at their blogs, and show some love!

Grab the button! Help spread the word! Comment and tell me that you’re sharing, so you can be added to our RAKers list!

I am trying to update the RAK button but it does not seem to be working — any ideas? I use blogger. I am a computer idiot!

Jen, did you know September is Hunger Action Month? What about having people do a sweep of their pantry for some non-perishables they don’t need and can take to their local food bank. I know the food banks in our community are struggling to keep food available.

Hi there, I’ve just discovered your blog and enjoy it a lot. I’m even learning things I’d never heard of, like birth defects. Thanks for sharing even the painful things.

I love RAKs and try to do one once a week. Recently my RAK is on Friday mornings, I stop by my favorite coffee place — Dutch Bros. — and get a Dutch Freeze, my treat for the week. When I pay for my drink, I also pay for the person behind me. I tell the person in the window to tell them that it’s a happy friday present from a stranger and I call it my “pay it forward Friday”. I love doing that and I love it that I drive away and can remain totally anonymous while the person in the car behind me gets a surprise. I don’t look for any credit; I just want to brighten someone’s day. What a good feeling it is to do that!

Last Friday, there were two people in the car, so paid for two drinks — a total of $8.00. Not a huge amount, but what a good feeling it is to “pay it forward.” Love it!! :-)
